Lesson 17 – Freewriting from a feeling

Remember way back when in lesson 5, we did an exercise for helping to get unstuck if we couldn’t write? This works for just writing as well. We don’t need to be stuck to use this technique.

One way to start writing is to begin with the first word that comes to mind as a description of how you feel (betrayed, angry, elated, sad, etc.) and freewrite. Write whatever comes to mind just like in the other exercise.

(If you need a refresher check it out under “Lesson 5 – Exercise – Writing when you can’t”)
