I was emotionally and sexually abused from early childhood into young adulthood. Perpetrators of these abuses included family and non-family members. There are some things I have always remembered. There are also things I stuffed away. Since the advent of the flashbacks and nightmares, I have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have been on my healing journey for a year. I had hidden my true self and my past so thoroughly that no one, not even my husband of 17 years, knew of the abuse.

I accepted Christ at age twelve, however, I am only now learning to allow His grace and love to penetrate into the damaged and dark parts of my true self. He is truly, my only hope of healing and wholeness.

I found at CSM a community that cares. For the first time, I feel I can be honest about my life, and still be accepted. My desire is to share that hope and support with others as we make this journey together. Paul urges us to press on toward the goal that is our high calling in Christ Jesus. It is my joy to be able to press on in the company of such a fine group of friends.
