Hello, I am appleblossom, a woman who is in her twenties and starting to see that there really is intense hope available to us if we choose to strive for it! A few years ago, I was sexually abused for about nine months by my ex-boyfriend. After we parted, I was still extremely upset all the time and began experiencing nightmares and flashbacks. I was always jumpy and super alert. I believed that I was "going crazy"! After joining Christian Survivors around five months later, however, I learned that these are normal symptoms for survivors! The loving group of people here made me feel less alone and have been there for me throughout my path of healing! It has been very difficult, and I am still in the middle of it and still experiencing those symptoms. However, I have improved, and I am continuing to traverse through the weeds of this journey! I found God (although I think He found me!) around the time of my abuse. He was who I called out to when I was in pain, and He is the one who continued loving me during every moment. I am so thankful for His faithfulness, as He is there even when I wonder where He was during the abuse, and He is true even when I am upset at Him for letting it happen. Without God, the wonderful people at Christian Survivors, and my supportive boyfriend, I do not know where I would be today. I hope to continue that love and support by taking time to support and care for others who have been abused in any way. Everyone deserves to have and to use his or her own strong voice!
